Biography
Woon Cho Kim, M.D., M.P.H. is a clinical fellow in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery at UCSF. She has a B.S. with a Major in Chemistry and a Minor in Community Building and Social Change from Emory College. She received her M.P.H. from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and her M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Kim completed her general surgery residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Kim's professional interests include global health and trauma surgical capacity building. In addition to her work in Uganda, India, and Haiti, she spent a year in Kigali, Rwanda working on assessing the trauma surgical needs for referral hospitals and implementing the WHO surgical safety checklist. She is passionate about application of innovative technology in low-resource settings to improve access to surgical care.
